Chickitik is more than just a platform for children's books. It is a community of parents, children, educators, and everyone who values quality children's literature and a safe family environment.

Purpose of these rules:

These Community Guidelines help us create a positive, safe, and inspiring space for all participants. They complement our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, but focus on building a healthy community.

• Children who love to read and listen to stories

• Educators who use our platform for educational purposes

• Authors and creators of children's content

• Everyone who shares our values

By reading and accepting these rules, you become part of our community and help make Chickitik the best place for children and their families.

Chickitik is built on the following fundamental values that we ask all community members to share and support:

1. Children's Safety is Our Top Priority

We do everything possible to keep Chickitik a safe space for children:

• All content is carefully selected and reviewed

• We show no advertisements to children

• We protect children's personal data

• We do not allow any content that could harm children

• We respond quickly to any safety concerns

2. Quality Over Quantity

We strive to provide only quality content:

• Literary value of books

• Quality of translation and narration

• Educational value of materials

• Age-appropriate content

• Cultural and linguistic authenticity

3. Respect and Kindness

We value every member of our community:

• Respectful communication always

• No discrimination or bias

• Acceptance of diversity (cultural, linguistic, religious)

These rules apply to all interactions on Chickitik, including reviews, ratings, and any other communication with the platform.

What you CAN do:

✅ Share your reading experience with children

✅ Recommend books your family enjoyed

✅ Ask questions about age categories or content

✅ Report technical problems or errors

✅ Make constructive suggestions for improvement

✅ Rate books according to your honest opinion

What you CANNOT do:

❌ Use offensive, rude, or disrespectful language

❌ Post spam or advertising

❌ Leave fake or paid reviews

❌ Manipulate ratings (inflating or deflating)

❌ Post content unrelated to books

❌ Disclose personal information (yours or others')

❌ Copy reviews from other sources

❌ Use the platform for political or religious disputes

❌ Insult other users or authors

❌ Post content that violates copyright

Special rules for family audience:

Remember that Chickitik is a family platform where children may be present:

• Use child-appropriate language

• Avoid mentioning adult topics in reviews

• Be positive and supportive

• Be mindful of cultural sensitivities

• Respect different parenting perspectives

Reviews and ratings help other parents choose books for their children. Quality reviews are a valuable contribution to our community.

How to write a good review:

1. Be honest — share your real experience

2. Be specific — what exactly did you like or dislike?

3. Consider age — what age is the book suitable for?

4. Share context — how did you read/listen to the book?

5. Be objective — even if a book isn't for you, it might suit others

Examples of helpful reviews:

✅ "Great book for children 3-5 years old. My son enjoyed listening to it before bed. Beautiful illustrations and a kind story about friendship."

✅ "Good book, but for older children (7-8 years). My youngest is 4 — doesn't understand the plot yet. We'll come back to it in a year."

✅ "Enjoyed the fairy tale, but the narration is a bit monotonous. My daughter (6) fell asleep halfway through, though she usually listens attentively."

Examples of unhelpful reviews:

❌ "Bad book" (no details)

❌ "BEST BOOK!!!!!!" (too emotional, no information)

❌ "Didn't read, but giving 5 stars" (dishonest review)

About ratings:

Our rating system is simple and clear:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 stars) — Excellent! Highly recommend

⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 stars) — Good, enjoyed it

⭐⭐⭐ (3 stars) — Okay, has pros and cons

⭐⭐ (2 stars) — Not great, don't recommend

⭐ (1 star) — Poor, didn't suit us at all

Important:

• Rating is your subjective opinion

• Different books suit different families

• What you didn't like, others might love

• Be fair in your assessments

Chickitik brings together families from different countries, cultures, and languages. We value this diversity and encourage everyone to treat it with respect.

Cultural Diversity:

• Chickitik is available in 6 languages (Russian, English, Finnish, Ukrainian, Greek, Hebrew)

• We represent literature from different cultures and traditions

• Respect cultural differences in parenting approaches

• Don't judge others for their book choices or reading methods

Linguistic Diversity:

Our users speak different languages. This is normal and wonderful!

• Don't criticize language choices for reading

• Many families use multiple languages — this enriches children

• Bilingual upbringing is a valuable gift to children

Religious Diversity:

• Avoid religious disputes on the platform

• Respect other families' religious traditions

• Remember that some holidays and themes are important to certain cultures

Different Parenting Approaches:

There's no single right way to raise children:

• Some read books before bed, others during the day

• Some prefer reading, others audiobooks

• Different families choose different age categories

• Respect other parents' choices

What to do if you see disrespectful behavior:

If you encounter discrimination, insults, or disrespect:

1. Don't engage in conflict

2. Report it to us via info@itcoti.fi

3. We will take appropriate action

Chickitik is a place for everyone who loves children's books and wants the best for their children.

Child safety is our top priority. We do everything possible to keep Chickitik a safe space.

What we do to protect children:

• Carefully select all content

• Verify age ratings for all books

• Show no advertising

• Protect children's personal data (see Children's Privacy Policy)

• Moderate reviews

• Respond quickly to problem reports

What parents should do:

We do our best for safety, but parental control is irreplaceable:

• Choose books appropriate for your child's age

• Listen to/read the book together with your child the first time

• Discuss what you've read with your children

• Monitor time spent with the app

• Use the "Favorites" feature for verified books

If you notice a problem:

Report immediately if you find:

• Inappropriate content in a book

• Errors in age ratings

• Technical problems

• Any safety concerns

All reviews are moderated to ensure the safety and quality of our community.

What we moderate:

• User reviews

• Ratings (check for manipulation)

• Problem reports

Moderation process:

1. Automatic filtering — system automatically blocks clearly unacceptable content

2. Manual review — our team checks questionable content

3. Decision — we approve, edit, or reject content

Moderation time:

• Most reviews are checked within 24-48 hours

• Urgent safety reports are processed immediately

We remove:

• Offensive content

• Spam and advertising

• Fake reviews

• Content violating our rules

• Personal information

Moderation helps keep Chickitik a safe and pleasant place for everyone.

The following types of content and behavior are strictly prohibited on Chickitik:

Absolutely Prohibited:

❌ Sexual content

❌ Violence or cruelty

❌ Hate or discrimination

❌ Threats or intimidation

❌ Harassment

❌ Personal information (doxxing)

❌ Spam or fraud

❌ Illegal content

❌ Piracy or copyright infringement

❌ Malware or phishing

Also Prohibited:

• Use of profanity

• Trolling or provocations

• Rating manipulation

• Impersonating others

• Ban evasion

• Selling or advertising goods/services

This is Serious:

Any violation of these rules will result in immediate action, including:

• Content removal

• Warning

• Temporary ban

• Permanent account ban

• In serious cases — reporting to law enforcement

How to report:

What to include in your message:

1. Type of violation — what exactly is violated?

2. Where found — link to book, review, or other location

3. Description — what exactly is wrong?

4. Screenshots — if possible, attach evidence

5. Your email — for feedback

Example reports:

✅ "Review on book [title] contains insults. Link: [url]. Screenshot attached."

✅ "User leaves only fake 5-star reviews on different books. Review list: [urls]"

Confidentiality:

• All reports are processed confidentially

• We do not disclose who filed the complaint

• Your data is protected

Response time:

• Standard cases — 2-3 business days

• Urgent cases (safety threats) — within 24 hours

Important:

• Report only real violations

• Don't use the complaint system for revenge

• False complaints may result in restrictions on your account

We apply a gradual approach to violations — from warning to permanent ban.

Consequence Levels:

1. Warning (first violation):

• Removal of violating content

• Email explaining the issue

• Reminder of rules

2. Temporary Ban (repeated violations):

• 7 days — for second violation

• 30 days — for third violation

• Removal of all violating content

3. Permanent Ban (serious/repeated violations):

• Complete account closure

• No possibility of recovery

• Applied for: serious safety violations, multiple violations after bans, threats or harassment

Immediate Permanent Ban for:

• Sexual content involving children

• Serious safety threats

• Illegal activity

• Attempts to bypass bans

Appeal:

If you believe the ban was erroneous:

• Write to info@itcoti.fi with subject "Account Block Appeal"

• Explain the situation

• We will review your appeal within 5 business days

Chickitik is a family app, and parental involvement is critical for children's safety.

We do everything for safety, but parents are the main protector of the child.

Recommendations for Parents:

1. Content Selection:

• Check age ratings of books

• Listen to a new book before giving it to your child

• Use the "Favorites" feature for verified books

• Pay attention to ratings and reviews

2. Joint Use:

• First acquaintance with a book — always together

• Discuss what you've read with your child

• Ask what they liked, what scared them

• Explain unclear moments

3. Time Control:

• Set reasonable limits

• Monitor balance between screen and other activities

• Use Chickitik as a tool, not a replacement for communication

4. Data Security:

• Don't share personal information in reviews

• Don't indicate children's real names

• Use a secure email

5. Feedback:

• Report any problems immediately

• Share your experience in reviews

• Help other parents choose

Remember:

No technology replaces parental attention and care. Chickitik is a helper, but you are the main one.

We value feedback and are constantly working to improve Chickitik.

What We Look for in Feedback:

✅ Details — screenshots, examples, reproduction steps

✅ Constructiveness — what can be improved and how

✅ Respect — politeness helps us understand you better

Examples of Good Feedback:

✅ "It would be great to add bookmarks in the middle of chapters. Currently have to start from the beginning."

✅ "Found a bug: when pressing button X on page Y the app closes. iPhone 14, iOS 17.2"

✅ "Book [title] is rated 4+, but it has a scary scene. Maybe better 6+?"

❌ Avoid:

• "Everything is bad" — not specific

• "Make it better" — unclear what exactly

• Rudeness or insults
